Our paperless system evolved from over ten years of experience in helping companies achieve successful ISO registration under both ISO 9000:1994 and ISO 9001:2000 standards. This approach to quality management was developed through the joint efforts of the chief operating officer of a large manufacturing company and an ISO 9000 consultant, engaged to assist in the registration process. These individuals worked together to prepare the manufacturing facilities of the corporation for their first certification audits. As they progressed toward registration, they developed an intranet system that enabled them to acquire ISO certification for all of the facilities in an unusually short time. They soon realized that the Internet offered a tremendous opportunity for simplifying the ISO process. They found that by developing a "point and click" system, the confusion and ambiguity of a paper-bound system could be eliminated. The time required for initial registration as well as the time for on- going administration could be greatly reduced. With the reduction of required time, they also saw a significant increase in employee enthusiasm for the system and an accompanying lowering of costs. This led them to begin the creation of our paperless quality management system They are now assisting clients in achieving certification through the use of this unique system.
